Nobody reads a landing page the way its author reads it. The author knows what the sentence is trying to say, so a forty-word sentence with three clauses reads fine to them and stops everybody else. Grade level is a rough measure, but it catches the two things that actually lose people: sentences that never end, and words chosen to sound expert rather than to be understood.
Counts sentence length and syllables. It cannot tell you whether what you wrote is true or useful, and those matter more.
