Cookies Policy

This Cookies Policy explains how UpgradIQ, Inc. uses cookies and similar technologies on upgradiq.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Notice: This document is a working draft awaiting final review by counsel.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, including local storage, session storage, and pixel tags, are used for related purposes. We refer to all of these collectively as “cookies” in this Policy.

2. Categories we use

Strictly necessary

Required for the site to function. These cookies cannot be disabled. They include:

  • Framework session cookie — a short-lived session identifier set by the Next.js edge runtime. Expires at the end of the browser session.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — a bot-protection token issued when you submit any form (contact form, checkout). Used to verify that the submission originated from a human. Does not identify you personally.
  • Stripe checkout cookies — session and security tokens set by Stripe during the payment flow. Required to process your payment securely. These are set and controlled by Stripe and are governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

Performance and analytics

Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We use PostHog for product analytics. IP addresses are anonymized before processing; PostHog does not receive your full IP. Where required by law, analytics cookies are loaded only after you consent. You can opt out at any time by emailing hello@upgradiq.comor using your browser’s Do Not Track settings.

Error and performance monitoring

Sentry may set short-lived cookies to correlate error reports across pages. IP addresses sent to Sentry are anonymized. These cookies do not identify you personally.

3. Third-party services

The following service providers may set cookies or similar identifiers through the site:

  • Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection on form submissions (strictly necessary).
  • Stripe — payment session and security tokens during checkout (strictly necessary).
  • PostHog — product analytics, where consent applies (anonymized IP).
  • Sentry — error and performance monitoring (anonymized IP).

Each of these providers maintains its own cookie and privacy policy. Links are available on request.

4. Managing your preferences

You can control or block cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site, including the ability to submit forms or complete a purchase. You can also request deletion of any data tied to cookies we have set by emailing hello@upgradiq.com.

5. Changes

We may update this Cookies Policy as our use of cookies changes. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent substantive change.

6. Contact

Questions about this Policy may be directed to hello@upgradiq.com.
