What an assistant needs before it will name you
Assistants do not rank pages, they assemble answers. Being included is less about keywords than about whether a machine can extract a claim from your page and attribute it without guessing.

Publish the answer as a claim a machine can lift in one piece, put the entity behind it in structured data, and make sure the same fact is stated identically wherever it appears. Assistants cite sources they can quote without ambiguity, and ambiguity is usually self inflicted.
Answer above the argument
A page that builds toward its conclusion is good writing and bad source material. An assistant reading it has to decide which paragraph is the answer, and when it cannot, it takes one from a page that made the decision for it.
Putting the whole answer in the first two sentences costs nothing with human readers, most of whom want exactly that, and it is the single change that most affects whether you are quoted.
Say who is speaking, in a form a machine reads
A claim with no attached entity is a claim an assistant has to hedge. Organisation markup with a stable identifier, the same on every page, is what turns a page into a source with a name.
The common failure is not missing markup but inconsistent markup: three pages describing the same company with three different descriptions, which resolves to three weak entities instead of one strong one.
Agree with yourself
If a figure appears on a service page, a case page and an article with three different values, none of them will be quoted. Assistants weight consistency heavily because it is the cheapest available proxy for reliability.
- One answer, stated in full, before the reasoning
- One entity, described identically on every page
- One value per fact across the whole site
- A date on anything that can go out of date
What to take from this
- 01Lead with the answer; assistants cannot infer which paragraph you meant
- 02Consistent entity markup beats more markup
- 03A figure that disagrees with itself across pages gets cited nowhere
- 04This is the same work that makes a page useful to a person in a hurry
Ask the question directly
- Is there a way to submit pages to an assistant?
- No, and anybody selling one is selling something else. The mechanism is ordinary crawling plus whether your page is quotable when it arrives.
- Does this replace normal SEO?
- It overlaps almost entirely. The difference is emphasis: extraction and attribution matter more, and link volume matters less than it does for ranking.
